Cricket Stadium Lighting Application Guide

Cricket is one of the prominent games in the world. Several countries are played, named Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, and New Zealand. West Indies. There are various kinds of Cricket games, such as Test cricket, ODI (One Day International Cricket), and T20 Cricket. These three kinds of games are played in day time and night time as well. So it is a very high requirement for the cricket lighting ground due to the ball color being red/pink and white.

Requirements of Cricket Stadium Lighting

According to the ICC (international Cricket Council), there are different criteria for lighting standards of international match, indoor match & practice session and national level match. Based on the demands of the TV live broadcast it takes 1500-2500 Lux (brightness) highest requirements. The flood lamps need to have a CRI 80- 90. It is because it provides very clear atmosphere for taking photos and videos. For indoor & recreational cricket matches we need 250 to 350 lux (brightness), which is sufficient for players to have competition between the team members. After that, 500 to 750 lux needed for professional cricket matches like List A and first class cricket. The brightness is higher because the movement is vigorous. Need to be more clear because the cricket ball is Cricket Balls have a diameter between 2.8”-2.86” (7.1-7.26 cm) and circumference from 8.81”-9” (22.4-22.9 cm).

Power of Cricket stadium lighting

Cricket Grounds have an overall diameter of between 450′-500′ (137-152 m) for a total area of 159,043-196,350 ft² (14,775-18,242 m²). The cricket pitch is located at the center of the ground surrounded by an infield with a radius of 90′ (27.4 m) from the center of each wicket. we can take 750 lux (professional matches) as an example. So the calculate is 14,775×750- 18,242×750= 11,081,250 lumens to 13,861,500 lumens. Our LED lights have 120 Lumens Per Watt (LPW). so the minimum power is 11,081,250/120=92,343 watts.

Lighting for indoor cricket fields

Apart from play outdoor cricket matches also play indoor cricket matches for practice and recreations. Heat is the main issue of indoor grounds. Due to very hot indoor fields the lights can be damaged. To solve this problem Need to focus on high- thermal management system.

Anti-glare

This is very important For live TV broadcasting and high efficiency needs to be anti-glare free and flicker free lighting system. Lighting systems need to follow highest criterion. Flicker- free lighting systems should have one the highest prioritize for international and domestic cricket matches.

Uniformity

To get better lighting, is is not expected that lower lighting, suddenly dimmed or to much bright which can have trouble of eyes for players during playing match. This is why it makes good sense to purchase the first-rate optics supplied by Shinetoo to enhance the uniformity value by as much as 0.9. It would certainly satisfy the requirement of USACA. One more stamina that needs to be considered is anti-glare alternatives to guarantee uniformity. Because there will be hundreds of spectators at the stadium, the lighting needs to fit them by giving the ideal lighting degree. Reduced glare stars would certainly see to it that their eyes do not obtain irritated and they enjoy a clear vision of the game. High-speed digital photography of as much as 5,000 Hz is supported  cricket lighting.
