Why are solar street lights not working? Have you checked all these places
More and more places are using solar street lights. Solar street lights come into our lives with numerous advantages, lighting up our way home. The development of solar street lights to the current level is enough to indicate that people’s awareness of low-carbon and energy-saving is gradually increasing, and solar energy has saved a lot of manpower and resources in installation. Even if solar street lights are perfect, there may be times when problems arise. So what is the reason why solar street lights don’t light up?
Solar street lights don’t light up, it’s just these 8 main reasons. Detailed problem inspection and solutions, timely collection!
1. Damaged light source
If the solar street light does not light up, does not light up when it is on, flickers, etc., it may be due to natural or human reasons causing damage to the LED light source, resulting in the solar street light system not working
Solution: Repair or replace the light source
2. Reverse connection of positive and negative electrodes of solar panels
After the installation of the solar street light system, it only lights up once, and then it doesn’t light up anymore. That’s because the positive and negative poles of the solar panel are reversed. When the battery runs out of electricity, the solar street light will no longer light up
Solution: Replace the positive and negative electrodes of the solar panel
3. Controller setting error
The solar street light system is not working properly. The LED light is not on when it is on, and the lighting time is not enough. It does not light up when it is day or night, or it remains on all the time. Please check if it is connected incorrectly according to the installation instructions of the system.
Solution: Reset the controller or directly replace the controller
4. Battery issues
The reverse connection of the positive and negative poles of the battery, poor contact, expiration of service life, battery damage, etc. make the battery unable to work properly, the battery voltage is too low, or the solar street light system cannot work properly, the LED light does not light up, the lighting time is not enough, and it does not light up when it is on.
Please confirm if the positive and negative poles of the battery are connected in reverse and test if the battery is damaged. Charge the battery with your own power source. After the battery is fully charged, the test voltage should be within the normal range (as specified in the battery specification). Then, connect the battery directly to the load (note not to connect the controller at this time) and test the voltage with a multimeter to see if the voltage changes. If the voltage decreases slowly, it indicates that the battery is normal. If the voltage decreases quickly in a short period of time (a few minutes), it indicates that the battery is broken
Solution: Reconnect the battery, replace the battery terminal, repair the battery, or directly replace the battery
5. Line aging or disconnection
The solar street light system is not working properly, and the LED will not light up or flash.
Solution: Reconnect the wires or replace the wires
6. Human induced hardware damage to the system
The solar street light system is not working properly.
Solution: Hardware repair or even worse hardware damage
7. Controller issues
The solar street light system is not working properly, the LED lights are on and off, and the time they are on is not enough. They are not on or on all day and night. Please check if the connection is incorrect according to the system installation instructions.
Solution: Change the controller program and directly replace the controller.
8. Damaged solar panel
The solar street light system cannot work or has insufficient working time. Please test the open circuit voltage of the solar panel. The solar panel is not connected to any load in sunlight, and do not connect the controller. Simply pull out the wires of the solar panel and connect a multimeter to test its voltage. Note that only the voltage above the battery voltage can charge the battery. If it is below the battery voltage, the battery cannot be charged.
Solution: Replace the solar panel
