How to choose a suitable solar street light

Customers are always looking for low prices, and many solar street light factories can only lower the price of their products, configure or use materials with poor quality in order to obtain higher profits.

The customer is happy to think that they are buying a cheap and high-quality product, but in reality, the quality of these solar street lights cannot work for six months or even less. So when choosing a suitable solar street light, you can probably focus on the following points:

01. Don’t just look at the parameters

When we buy solar street lights, we cannot just look at the specifications advertised by the supplier. Because the supplier may advertise that the battery is 100Ah, the actual purchased product is only 10Ah. Even if the capacity is the same, the available capacity of different grades of batteries also varies. Some suppliers may label the same solar street light as 60W, while others may label it as 300W.

The solar street light system is very different from traditional utility city street lights. For example, in terms of the power of LED lights, you may often see 300W and 500W solar street light systems in the market. As is well known, a 300W solar street light needs 3600WH power per night to work for 12 hours, so the power of the solar panel needs to be at least 800W. For solar street light systems, especially integrated solar street lights, this is undoubtedly an unreasonable configuration.

02. Don’t just look at the price

People all want to buy the cheapest product, but the cheapest doesn’t necessarily mean the most cost-effective, it depends on the effect and lifespan. For example, based on the 10-year lifespan of a high-quality solar lamp priced at $400, the average annual cost is $40. The 1-year lifespan of low-quality solar light at $100 has an average annual cost of $100. If it breaks down, it’s a waste of time and energy, but it’s actually not worth it.

In order to gain more business, some greedy manufacturers produce low-quality products with poor standard parameters, resulting in a large number of performance issues, leading many people to choose market circuit lights instead of solar street light products.

03. How to distinguish between high-quality and low-quality products

If you want to purchase high-quality solar street lights, we recommend choosing A-grade, A-grade LiFePO4 batteries, or B-grade Lifepo4 batteries. Although their cost is higher than other batteries, their lifespan will be extended by more than three to five years. Solar panel size

A wider solar panel size means a higher load power and capacity, which can improve the efficiency of the solar panel, provide sufficient power to carry the power, and provide insurance for brightness and longer backup time on cloudy days.

But the size configuration of low-quality solar panels is less than 2.5 times the load power. If the cloudy day exceeds the expected design requirements, the LED lights will not work.

Low quality solar street lights only use molds and rough craftsmanship, and the installation structure requires support from brackets to restore structural strength issues, making the installation more complex, lacking stability, and unable to withstand strong winds.
